a passion from the ground up

ONE VINEYARD, TWO REMARKABLE REGIONS
Our vineyard is located in the heart of the Willamette Valley. Divided by Dopp Road in Newberg, our land has the unique quality of falling into both the Chehalem Mountains and Ribbon Ridge AVAs. Part of this remarkable property is being cultivated to grow grape varietals that are perfectly suited for these sedimentary soils.

our building blocks
The first vine on BelliVadum Vineyards was planted on October 21, 2016. This initial planting included two blocks of Pinot Noir with each block being named after our twin boys, Luke and Aidan, who chose at random which blocks would be named after them on their 2nd birthday. Our next estate block will be named after our daughter, Josephine.
An additional 13 acres on the Dopp Road vineyard site remains to be planted and will be dedicated to other family members. Future plans are to expand beyond Pinot Noir to include Chardonnay and other varietals.
THE LUKE BLOCK
The Luke Block is located on the north portion of the vineyard and consists of 2.5 acres of Dijon clone 777. This clone is popular in the Willamette Valley and is known for producing wines with bold character and flavors.
THE AIDAN BLOCK
The Aidan Block is located on the south portion of the vineyard and consists of 2.5 acres of Pommard, an Old World clone. The Pommard clone is often used in blends to add depth and complexity to wine, but can also be used in a single clone wine.
THE JOSEPHINE BLOCK
Named after our daughter, who arrived into the family in 2019, this block will be planted in 2024.
the four components of our terroir
CLIMATE
With a relatively mild climate throughout the year, the Willamette Valley is known for cool, wet winters and warm, dry summers. The growing season is long and runs from April to October.
SOIL
Our Vineyard consists mainly of Willakenzie and Dupee marine sedimentary soils, the oldest soils in the Willamette Valley. These well draining soils help the vines establish deep roots as they reach deep to find water.
TOPOGRAPHY
The southwesterly sloping site ranges in elevation from approximately 250-350 feet.
HUMAN IMPACT
At every stage, we are focused on contributing to what’s best for the land, the crops, and ultimately, the wine.
